A spokesman for the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Saturday confirmed that a fire has broken out at its precision engineering department at the Karachi’s Jinnah International airport and is likely to damage spare parts.
PIA spokesman Daniyal Gilani said firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze, which erupted early Saturday.
He said no one was injured and the incident has not affected flight operations.
Gilani said it is not clear what caused the fire.
The precision engineering department manufactures spare parts of aeroplanes and other industries.
