Industries, Production Division gets Rs 909 mln allocation

The government has allocated Rs 909.525 million for 13 ongoing development projects of the Industries and Production Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2016-17.

According to the PSDP documents released here Friday, a sum of Rs 193.85 million has been earmarked for development projects of the Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company, while Rs 100 million have been allocated for establishment of CFC for silk cluster in Mingora, Swat.

Similarly, a sum of Rs 6.64 million will be spent on establishment of the Bostan Industrial Estate (Phase-1) Balochistan, and Rs 100 million will be released for establishment of design institute, especially for energy sector plants at Heavy Mechanical Complex in Taxila.

For the project establishment of Gems and Jewellery Development Company, Azad Jammu Kashmir, an amount of Rs 24.5 million has been set aside while for establishment of infrastructure in Quetta Industrial and Trading Estate (phase-II), an amount of Rs 25.35 million has been earmarked.

Likewise, Rs 17.5 million have been earmarked for the project of Foundry Service Centre, Lahore whereas Rs 80 million each have been allocated for the projects Hyderabad Engineering Support Centre, Hyderabad, Light Engineering Upgradation Centre for SMEs in Balochistan, Hub, Lasbela and Peshawar Light Engineering Centre, Peshawar.

A sum of Rs 30 million, Rs 33 million and Rs 69 million have been allocated for PC-II for feasibility study on establishment of turbines and power plants equipment manufacturing facilities at Heavy Mechanical Complex in Taxila, and provision of infrastructure in Quetta Industrial Estate (Phase-IV) and water supply schemes for Hub Industrial Trading Estate Phase-II (extension), respectively.
