Govt allocates Rs 222.061 mln for education in capital

The government has allocated Rs 2221.061 million for the Federal Education and Professional Training Division for the Fiscal Year 2016-17 in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

According to the PSDP release on Friday, an amount of Rs 725.220 million has been allocated for the new schemes, while Rs 1495.841 million would be spent on the Federal Education and Professional Training Division’s ongoing schemes.

The new important schemes included allocation of Rs 50 million for vocational schools in Public Private Partnership, Islamabad, whereas Rs 600 million was allocated for the National Education Reforms Initiative.

The ongoing important schemes included establishment and operation of basic education and community schools in the country including AJK, FATA, and GB for which Rs 542.376 million have been allocated. Similarly, Rs 767.000 million has been earmarked for improving human development indicators in Pakistan.
