Waiting for govt procedure to probe Panama Leaks: NAB chairman

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that the corruption watchdog is waiting for the government procedure to be decided for the probe into Panama Leaks.

Chaudhry told reporters that the accountability body will act after getting substantial evidence. He said the NAB waiting for a procedure set by the government to probe against the politicians and others.

He said the accountability watchdog will not tolerate corruption in the projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (C-PEC) and will keep watch over the transparency of the projects. He added that the China also working on transparency of the corridor projects.

“Love your country and you will see the corruption graph going down,” he said.

He said the accountability body remained under pressure whether it be Dr Asim’s case or the DHA probe.

Speaking on the developments in the Balochistan mega corruption scandal, Chaudhry said that the adviser and the secretary finance of the province were involved in corruption and that former chief minister Abdul Malik Baloch had no knowledge of it.

He said that assets and properties of the arrested accused have been identified in Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad and their bank accounts have been frozen.
