The State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday announced Rs 0.5 million compensation for six citizens who lost their lives in Wednesday night’s thunderstorm.
Talking to media after visiting the thunderstorm affectees at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the minister said: “The compensation cheques of Rs 0.5 million each will be disbursed among the family members of thunderstorm victims within two days from Prime Minister’s Special Package”.
He said that a total of 133 citizens received medical assistance from three hospitals of the federal capital including 46 from PIMS, 72 from Federal Government Poly Clinic (FGPC), while 15 persons got treatment from CDA hospital.
He said that best medical treatment is being provided to the thunderstorm victims.
He added that out of all the patients, five were still receiving medical treatment, while the remaining 128 were discharged from these hospitals.
He said that among the five patients, three were at PIMS, while two were at FGPC. Two of these patients are in a stable condition, while one patient who received head injury is in PIMS ICU, he added.
He said that special directions were issued to CDA to remove all trees and signboards from the roads to maintain a smooth flow of traffic on all roads of the federal capital.
Dr Tariq said that following the directions, the CDA staff has cleared all the roads of the federal capital, while the process of maintenance is still ongoing.
