Crackdown against criminal elements continued in Karachi as five terrorists were killed in operations conducted by the CTD, intelligence agencies and police in different parts of the city on Thursday night.
According to details, the CTD and intelligence agencies on a tip-off cordoned off some houses in Mehran Town area of Korangi. The terrorists present in the compounds opened fire at the raiding party which was retaliated. As a result, three terrorists were killed. The dead terrorists were identified as Umarm Alam and Ranjha. According to In Charge CTD, Junaid Sheikh, the dead terrorists were involved in more than 200 cases. Meanwhile, two gang war operatives were killed in encounter with police near Mewa Shah Graveyard in Pak Colony while two of their accomplices managed to escape. On the other hand, police carried out an operation in Defence Phase-II area and apprehended two activists of a banned outfit. According to the SSP South, the arrested terrorist got training in Afghanistan. Arms and explosive material was also recovered from them, he added.
