The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the law enforcers to provide protection to Jamil Baloch, head of Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) Anti Encroachment Cell.

The SHC bench, headed by Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, was hearing the plea filed for recovery of Baloch. The chief justice had converted the letter written to him by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) law officer into a petition.

During the Thursday’s hearing, the report was submitted to the court according to which head of KDA’s Anti Encroachment Cell has re-appeared. As per Baloch’s statement after the recovery, he was picked up by unknown men near Farhan Club who dropped him near Star Gate on Wednesday. While adjourning the hearing, the court directed the law enforcers to provide protection to Baloch.

Earlier, KMC’s Law Officer Sultan Ahmed had submitted in a letter that as a head of anti-encroachment cell, Baloch remained very active against the land grabbers and China Cutting Mafia in Karachi.

Baloch went missing when he was coming back to his home in Shah Faisal Colony from his office on 27th of May 2016. Later his car was found within the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station near a mosque where he used to offer a prayer.
