Make the Women’s Protection Bill Shariah Compliant

Allah says in the pious Quran in Surah Nisa: “O mankind! Fear your lord who initiated your creation from a single soul, then from it created its mate and from these two spread the creation of countless men and women”.

Both democratic and communist countries permit both the opposite genders namely (man and woman) to set their own laws of life, like, freedom of speech and so on. But in an Islamic country women are even prohibited to work to earn a livelihood instead making them the responsibility of her husband to bring her clothes, food and shelter. Learning personal defence is not one of her rights but her duty to protect her honour and grace even in dire need.
Recently, The CII (Council of the Islamic Ideology) has struck down a new women protection bill after terming the last passed bill of the National Assembly as “un-Islamic”.

According to the Chairman of the CII Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani all the clauses of the bill or resolution are on the Islamic aspects, principles and teachings.

The lack of rights of women isn’t a secret in Pakistan but our politicians are more concerned about their own necessities. The remote and backward places in Balochistan, Sindh and KP are even deprived of their fundamental rights like education through which a nation can get change.

Along these lines, I request the Chairman of CII that make the bill according to the teachings of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Holy Quran. It is high time to raise our voices for women’s protection to let them live a free life instead of being in captivity.
