Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Wednesday (today) said that US drone strikes are regrettable and must be stopped as they impose threat to the sovereignty and internal security of the country.
While talking to the media post joint session of the parliament army chief said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a national project and must be completed at any cost.
Regarding the ongoing war on terror, General Raheel said, “The war on terror will be completed at any cost.” He also lauded the efforts of those participating in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
General Raheel also briefed the president on his visit to Turkey where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Pakistan Army’s accomplishments in Operation Zarb-e-Azb and its contributions to regional peace and stability.
Further, adamant that internally-displaced persons (IDPs) would return home this year, General Raheel said “I told them they would return home this year but they can’t believe it.”
