After the police failed to recover Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) Head of Anti-Encroachment Cell Jamil Baloch, Rangers officials denied reports that the missing KDA official was in their custody.
During the hearing of Jamil Baloch disappearance case at the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday, they admitted that so far no progress could be made in the case but were more chances of his being kidnapped.
While giving statements with respect to the case in the court, Inspector General (IG) AD Khawaja said that efforts were being made for early recovery of Jamil Baloch. The court also inquired about the involvement of agencies in the case. But, according to the IG Sindh, there could be some unexplained circumstances that might have led to the disappearance of Jamil Baloch.
High-ups of the police and Rangers appeared before the court on Tuesday because the family of the missing KDA official had registered a case, naming the ministry of interior secretary, Rangers director general, Sindh IG and other concerned authorities as party.
It is pertinent to add that the KDA official went missing in Karachi while returning his home in Shah Faisal Colony in Civic Centre on May 27. His car was later found near Aziz Bhatti Police Station.
