An 18-year-old HIV patient died in Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday.

According to details, Ahmed Ali, son of Abdul Rahim Sheikh was a resident of Allahabad locality, Larkana. He was brought to CMCH by his relatives three days ago.

Muhammad Ali Shaikh, the brother of the deceased, alleged that Ahmed Ali was not shifted to any other ward for proper treatment and supervision.

While complaining to reporters at Larkana press club, he said that no drugs were provided to his ailing brother by the hospital authorities. They were forced to purchase the costly medicines from the open market but his brother could not survive.

Larkana is ranked second in Sindh for having a large number of HIV positive cases. Most of the victims are either drug-users or sex workers.
