A Labourer’s Voice

Few days back I came across a labourer along the route of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project. He was working in the heat and dust, all over surrounded by heavy machinery. When I asked him if the weather was too harsh to work all day long in burning sun? His answer surprised me.

He said “I am a labourer and I have worked in severe conditions throughout my life. I have drained my sweat to build marvellous homes that I could never live in but this time it’s different with Orange Line Metro Train. OLMT will also benefit my family; in fact my generations to come will benefit from this international standard transport, they will be happy and the very thought to see them happy fades away my sufferings. A man as poor as myself could only desire for a dignified ride, but Orange Train has made my dream come true.”

After knowing the perspective of labourer I realized that why Orange Line Metro Train is called a project for the common man. The Orange Line Metro Train project is no less than a ray of hope for the underprivileged. It will facilitate people from all walks of life including labourers, workers and students alike. The view of labourer reflects the hopes and aspirations of the lower class associated with Lahore Orange Line Metro Train. Let’s hope that Orange Line Metro Train Project gets completed without any delays!
