The State Minister for Water and Power Chaudhary Abid Sher Ali on Sunday announced no load shedding would be carried out during Sehar, Iftar and Taraveeh in the holy month of Ramzan.
Talking to the media after addressing a public gathering at Ghausia Park here, he said the PML-N government was executing energy generation projects on war-footings which would surely help eliminate load shedding during the next year.
“The government is trying hard to provide people uninterrupted power supply during sehr, iftar and taraveeh. However, there will be six hours of load shedding in urban spaces and eight hours of load shedding in rural areas daily during Ramazan,” said Abid Sher.
He said 8000-10000 megawatt electricity would be added in the system up to 2018, adding: “We are striving hard to overcome load shedding completely by March next.”
Responding to a question, Abid Sher Ali said the prime minister went abroad for cardiac surgery and he would return soon and restart his services for welfare and betterment of the masses.
“The PML-N has made Pakistan invincible by making atomic power and now we are striving to transform it into economic power”, he said.
Responding to another query, the minister said people had rejected politics of agitation introduced by PTI chief Imran Khan.
Imran Khan failed to do anything worth-mentioning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.
