The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Sunday (today) predicted that parts of Khyber PakhtunKhuwa (KP), Islamabad and Upper Punjab are likely to experience light rain with strong gusts and lightening while most parts of the country are likely to witness dry and hot weather.

Rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds is expected at isolated places of Khyber PakhtunKhuwa (KP), Islamabad and Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions).

Furthermore, rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds are also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

According to PMD, temperature will soar in country’s plains. Dalbandin, Larkana, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, and Mirpurkhas will witness a rather intense day as far as the climate goes.

However, in Karachi the weather will be partly cloudy.

Seasonal low pressure area lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending north-eastwards. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country during evening/night and likely to move north-eastward in next 18 to 24 hours.
