Qaim takes notice of encroachments

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has ordered the Karachi commissioner to take action against the administration of a superstore which has grabbed the government land to illegally construct a car parking there. He said he would not allow anybody to grab government land illegally and create inconvenience for people of the area and smooth flow of traffic. “How it is possible for a person or private company to illegally occupy green belt and portions of water drain when the owner of the land (KMC) is very much present in the city,” he wondered. The CM questioned where was the anti-encroachment department of KMC and its directors and the administrator when the encroachers were occupying green belt and storm water drain. The chief minister directed the KMC administrator to be vigilant and look after the property of his corporation the way he took care of his own property.

PRAISES PRO-HUMANITY SERVICES OF EDHI

Meanwhile, the chief minister visited Abdul Sattar Edhi’s residence at Kharadar to inquire after his health. Balqees Edhi and Faisal Edhi received him.

Later while talking to media, he said that Abdul Sattar Edhi was a ‘superman’ who had served humanity selflessly. “He is an international personality and his services are beyond the borders of nationality, religion or sectarian identity as he rushes to help people who are in pain and trouble.”

The chief minister said that the people like Edhi were born after centuries. “He is the identity of Pakistan abroad, and a masiha in the country. “May God give him good health and the prayers of whole nation are with him,” he said.

During his visit to Edhi’s residence, the chief minister noticed that the DMC South had failed to keep Kharadar area clean. There were heaps of filth and garbage along the roads and streets.

Taking serious notice of the filth and garbage, the chief minister ordered Chief Secretary Siddique Memon to put the services of Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Waqar under suspension for his failure to perform his duties properly. The overall sanitary conditions of Karachi are not better than that of district South as the whole city has become a big heap of garbage.
