Three alleged terrorists were killed in Mangopir area when the rangers conducted a search operation late on Friday night.
According to a statement released by the paramilitary forces, the search operation was conducted on a tip off that masterminds of several bomb attacks were present in the area. When security forces reached a terrorist hideout, the militants opened fire resulting in a shootout which killed three, the statement said. Suicide vests, explosives and ball bearings were recovered from the terrorists.
At least two suspects belonging to the Lyari gang war were apprehended during a raid in Pak Colony on Saturday.
The intelligence agencies conducted a search operation on a tip off received about the presence of criminal elements in Pak Colony.
The detainees were identified as Jameel and Ghaffar. According to sources, Jameel works in fisheries departmet. The rangers have begun an investigation in the department.
The senior security official stated that Karachi operation was launched by the government which is giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists have been held so far. He said that stern action will continue until the end of the last criminal.
