Two people, including a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, were gunned down while another person was injured in a suspected targeted killing in Jaffer Tayar Society of Karachi’s Malir area on Thursday night.

A Saudabad police official said that the victims were sitting at Nad-e-Ali roundabout on Thursday evening during load shedding hours when unidentified armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on them and fled. The attack claimed the lives of two people identified as Asim Husain and Amir Haider while a local named Hasan sustained multiple bullet wounds.

A MQM spokesperson claimed that Asim Hussain was a party worker while Haider was a sympathiser of the MQM.

  1. For years, dedades rather, MQM has been harrassing Afaq Ahmed himself and his party workers in this area – so much so they kept Afaq Ahmed confined to his house – Baitul Hamza ( this is 90 of MQM Haqiqi). Killed dozens of Afaq Ahmed's workers, never thinking that times could change. Can expect more.
