Kangana Ranaut, who was previously dubbed Bollywood’s ‘highest paid actress’, has been snatched off the aforementioned title when reports made rounds, claiming that the Tanu Weds Manu actor was only paid INR 3 crore for her upcoming movie, Rangoon.
In an attempt to defend her sister, Rangoli Chandel has claimed that Kangana is, in fact, the highest paid female Bollywood actor and that she will charge a fee of over INR 11 crore for her next movie project.
International Business Times reports Rangoli as saying, “These are all baseless rumours. We have charged INR 11 crore for the movies that we signed last year. Unarguably, Kangana is the highest paid actress. In fact, post-Rani Laxmi Bai, whichever project I am negotiating for, her contract is going to be for more than INR 11 crore.”
IBT reports that the Queen star has lied about her age as well, which came to light when a copy of her passport proved that the actor is 30 years old, not 29.
Previously, at an event, where Kangana and her Katti Batti co-star Imran Khan were present at a radio station, she was asked about being tagged as the ‘highest paid actress,’ to which Kangana said, “I think the kind of roles or films I do it literally takes a year… so, I think it is justified.”
