Travelling via IJP road

Yesterday, I came back to Islamabad from my hometown Bhagwal through the Motorway. After reaching Pirwadhai Mor, I had to travel on IJP Road. This road is dividing twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad from G.T. Road till Faizabad. It is one of the busiest roads, is in such dilapidated condition and that need to be reconstructed at the earliest.

Journeying from Pirwadhai Mor to Faizabad, I really felt sorry for the punishment meted out to the vehicle in which I was traveling. Hazardous potholes, some filled with stones, were just about a normal part of the route for most of the journey. It is in extreme poor condition. I also met a turned over motorcycle on my way.

Heavy traffic, including trailers, trucks and buses are allowed to ply on this road which developed craters on it. The thick traffic flow from Pindora Chungi, New Katarian, Dhok Hassu and Faizabad Pirwadhai, 9th Avenue, Double Road, use this road, creating traffic jams especially during the peak hours too.

Those who drive fast have to move in a zig zag pattern, and thus endanger not only their own lives but also the drivers of other vehicles and pedestrians. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) need to immediately launch repair work by filling the potholes and install road signs which are mostly missing all over this long road.

I also demand that the CDA beautify the neglected IJ Principal road by growing flower plants and bulldozing ever mounting encroachments on both sides of this road.
