“I believe in democracy from the core of my heart but this government has brought low the name of democracy as it has neglected the important institution of the parliament.” This was said by Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister Moula Bakhsh Chandio.
He was talking to the Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami in his channel 24 programme DNA on Wednesday night.
Chadio said that the civilian government itself has given the chance to the military establishment to take control of the country’s foreign and security policies.
“I wonder how the foreign policy of a country can be run when the portfolio of foreign minister is being shared by four persons,” he said.
Answering a question of Nizami, he said that the law and order situation in Karachi has improved significantly since the start of the operation. He said the operation was started after the MQM demanded an operation under the army and now the same party is showing reservations over the operation.
He said that Sindh has developed a lot during the tenure of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as the infrastructure of interior Sindh has been improved in recent years.
“It was impossible for people to travel from one area to another in Tharparkar, but one can now travel the whole area in just one day,” he said.
There are dual policies in Pakistan, he said, one for Punjab and another for smaller provinces. He was of the view that the PPP does not believe in the politics of ‘Muk-Muka’ as the leaders of PPP have faced death sentences while its workers refused to budge even after receiving lashes from military regimes.
Talking about the expected Nawaz-Zardari meeting in London, he said that there is nothing wrong with it if Zardari enquires after the health of Nawaz by making a phone call to him.
Nahin Chandio Sahib, Ye Paraliament hi to hai jiske piche hukumat har mushkil ke waqt chupti hai. Ye aapne kya kah dia ?
