MQM leader Farooq Sattar has said that the federal and the provincial governments are ignoring the most important city in the country due to their incompetence and corruption.
Sattar said, “Karachi’s economic viability has been destroyed due to the bad governance.”
Addressing a press conference in Khurshid Shah Begum Secretariat the other day, Sattar said Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities of Sindh are not on the priority list of the prime minister, further stating that the PM should inform about the areas which fall under his administration. He also said that the PM is inaugurating developmental projects in specific areas in order to please his allies and voters. He termed this step of the similar to political bribe.
Sattar said that he has been intending to meet the PM for past one year to discuss with him the developmental projects in Sindh but the meeting has yet not been made possible. He stated that if injustices are not addressed then Muttahida can organise a huge sit-in.
The MQM leader demanded that the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway, M-9 project and the China-Pakistan Economic Project (CPEC) be made in accordance with the people’s will and that the Karachi circular railways must be made functional.
