The International Labour Organisation Thursday would sign the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakistan for Third Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) in Islamabad.
The programme seeks avenues for upholding fundamental principles and rights at work for Pakistan’s 60 million strong workforce which largely operates in the informal economy and the agriculture sector.
The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis in collaboration with Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) and Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) has developed the third DWCP for Pakistan with technical support of the ILO.
The Pakistan’s DWCP was developed through a consultative process that included a wide range of stakeholders including academia, media, Economic Affairs Division, Women in Development Department, Ministry of Agriculture as well as the Ministries of Commerce and Foreign Affairs.
