Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said history would never forgive Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for trampling all ethical norms and values in his bid to attain power.
The minister, in a statement, said the PTI chief had been delivering the same speech for the last three years. “Instead of wasting people’s time and money for his gatherings, Imran should better record a cassette for them,” he added.
He said if Imran Khan was clean and clear, he should have presented himself for accountability like Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who had offered to start the process from him.
Rashid said the PTI chief had to get emergency treatment from the Shaukat Khanam Hospital (when he had fallen from a makeshift lift during an election rally in 2013), and then went abroad for proper treatment.
He said the PTI chief talked of education reforms while the children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where his party was in government, were used to get education sitting on ground in schools.
The minister said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had announced development projects for the people of Swat, whereas Imran Khan went to the valley only to criticize the development activities.
Imran Khan could have seen the ruins of new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had he travelled to Swat by road instead of taking a helicopter ride, he added.
Pervaiz Rashid said the PTI chief was enjoying a lavish life because of the loans got written off by his party’s senior leader Jehangir Khan Tareen.
He also said that students in schools of ‘Naya Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ were studying at schools but while sitting on floor.
