A theatrical performance with the title of “Pakistan Zindabad” was arranged under the auspices of Rawalpindi Arts Council.
The patriotic play was written and directed by Ismael Basheer.
Member of National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb was the Chief Guest on the occasion. She was flanked by Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed at the event.
Yar Muhammad, Hameed Babar, Saeed Anwar, Lubna Shahzadi, Imran Rushdi, Shahzad Pappu, Dildar Khan, Shahid Bhola, Vicky and Ismael Basheer were among the leading cast members of the drama.
The story revolves round Yar Muhammad, playing the character of Dildar Khan, who is drug peddler and the richest person in the town. He makes all-out efforts to expand his business using everything at his disposal.
Making a speech at the end of the theatrical performance, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb said that every Pakistani has love for the country but that there is a small segment of the society who is playing in the hands of the enemy. However, she said that our security forces are capable of thwarting any bid of the enemies of the country. Naheed Manzoor said it is our national obligation to expose such characters.
Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed congratulated Ismael Basheer and his team for staging such a thematic play and the teamwork that went into making it successful. He also announced that another drama “Umeed” will be staged on May 26.
