Saboteurs will be eliminated at every cost: Chandio

Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Archives Maula Bux Chandio strongly condemned the killing of two traffic police personnel in Karachi and reiterated firm resolve to eliminate terrorists, anti-state elements and miscreants who want to sabotage peace in the metropolis.

Two traffic police officials of Azizabad Traffic Section were shot dead in an armed attack by unidentified men in Karachi’s Ayesha Manzil area on Saturday.

Releasing a condemnation statement, he said that law enforcement agencies had been directed to apprehend the terrorists involved in the attack. He said that the chief minister had also taken serious notice of the attack and had directed LEAs to be vigilant and beef up the security to avert any untoward incident across the province with special focus on Karachi.

He stated that traffic police personnel were attacked in previous year also and taking stock of the situation the Sindh government had provided bullet-proof jackets, arms and other necessary gadgets to traffic police to minimise the loss of their lives. He added that in today’s incident martyred police officials were wearing bullet-proof jackets but they were shot in head by terrorists.

The adviser also said that these attacks on traffic police personnel were aimed to disturb the peaceful environment of the city, adding that any such attempt to sabotage the ongoing peace process in the port city would not be tolerated and miscreants involved would be dealt with iron hands.

Commending the ongoing police- and rangers-led operation against the terrorists, extortionists, extremists and other anti state elements, he said it was bearing extra ordinary fruitful results and it would continue until the elimination of last terrorist. Chandio urged upon the people to cooperate with law enforcing agencies and share information with the nearby police station about any suspicious activity and person. The adviser condoled with the bereaved families of martyred police officials and assured them that Sindh government would not leave them alone.
