Punjab govt to present budget on June 10

The Punjab government’s budget for the fiscal year 2016-17 will be presented on June 10.

According to a source, in this year’s budget, a total of Rs 450 billion has been allocated to the development projects, Rs 42 billion for education, Rs 26 billion for health, Rs 6 billion for laptop scheme, Rs 30 billion for construction of roads in rural areas, Rs 10 billion for Orange Line Project, Rs 40 billion for irrigation, Rs 12 billion for agriculture, Rs 16 billion for urban development programme and Rs 18 billion for energy sector.

As many as 142 new development projects have been included in the next budget.
