Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and former Aussie pacer Mitchell Johnson are likely to feature in the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as talks with the two players are still going on, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said.
“The PCB is in contact with the two T20 superstars,” the official said.
He said the player draft for PSL 2 would be held in mid-October. “The names for PSL draft will be finalised till September 5 after which the administration will go ahead with the draft,” he said.
The first edition of the five-team tournament was held in February earlier this year and the second edition is expected to kick off the same month next year.
The official, however, declined to comment on the possibility of conducting the league at an alternative venue.
The prize money will also be increased for the next edition along with a five per cent increase in the players’ salary, which will see the total salary cap go to $1.2 million.
Earlier, the retention window was opened this month on May 5 which will last till September 9. The transfer window will run from June 20 to September 9.
