Two days after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government during his address to a rally in Mingora, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Sunday hit back, saying the premier should know that reformation of nations was linked with education and not motorways.
Referring to PM’s recent ‘where is naya KP’ remarks, Khan, while addressing a rally in Swat, said that naya KP would be seen in schools and not on newly developed roads.
“You must think before announcing such projects as you will not stay in power to complete them,” he said.
Reminding the people about his party-led government’s investment in people and their education, Khan said that soon KP would be the most educated province of Pakistan and education was what developed a nation.
“KP is the only province where police is not politicised and our policemen were the ones who, within 24 hours solved the case of Soran Singh’s (party legislator) murder,” added Khan.
He claimed that corruption had seen a steady decline in KP after the PTI came into power and medical facilities had improved and would further improve in the near future.
Khan said the PML-N could not bring any positive change despite three straight terms in Punjab and only looted the country’s money to invest abroad.
He asked the people of Swat to demand KP’s due share in electricity, gas and water distribution from the PM, when he made another visit to the area.
