The Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought comments from the Sindh Rangers director general, inspector general of police, home secretary and others on a petition seeking whereabouts of a man who was missing since 13th of May 2016.
The SHC bench, headed by Justice Irfan Saadat, was hearing the petition filed by Mst Saima who moved the court against law enforcers for allegedly detaining her husband, Asim Khan, from their home in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
The petitioner stated that her husband, Khan, was at their home on 13th of May when the law enforcers forcefully entered the house and took him away without disclosing the reason of his arrest. She submitted that her spouse was not involved in any criminal activity yet he was picked up. The petitioner stated that she was not being informed about her detained husband.
The court issued notices to the additional attorney general (AAG), advocate general and other respondents to file their comments on 30th of May.
