The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought an explanation from the NADRA within a week for declaring a local citizen a foreigner.
When LHC judge Shams Mehmood Mirza took up the case for hearing on Friday, the petitioner, Muhammad Saleem, a resident of Choonian, told the court that the NADRA had blocked his identity card declaring him a foreigner despite the fact that he did show NADRA authorities the identity cards of his parents and brothers.
The judge remarked “on the one hand the NADRA is not arresting foreigners and on the other hand, it is not issuing identity cards to Pakistani citizens”.
