Two gunned down, one injured in violence

At least two men were shot dead and another was injured in violence in different localities of the city on Friday.

According to rescue sources, a 30-year-old man identified as Abdul Fahad, son of Abdul Jabar, was killed by unknown armed men’s firing near Madina Colony in Malir area. The victim was resident of Malir. The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JMPC) for autopsy.

Separately, another 28-year-old man, Khan Muhammad, son of Shah Nazeer, resident of Gul Ahmed area, was gunned down by unknown armed men near Mansehra Graveyard in Landhi area. The victim was shifted to JMPC for medico-legal formalities.

In Malir area, a man was shot at and injured by unidentified armed men near Saudabad area. The injured was later identified as Muhammad Kamran, aged around 24, son of M Ishaq, and he was moved to JMPC for treatment.

MAN COMMITS SUICIDE

A 40-year-old man committed suicide by setting himself on fire at his residence in Numaish Chowrangi on Friday.

Rescue sources informed that Tahir, son of Arif, resident of Numaish Chowrangi, locked himself up at his apartment’s room near Ali Raza Imambargah and ended his life by setting himself on fire.

On receiving information, rescue teams and police rushed to the spot and shifted his body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for autopsy. Police sources said the motive behind the suicide could not be ascertained yet, but investigation was underway.

MAN DROWNS IN LANDHI

A man drowned into a drain in Landhi area of the metropolis on Friday.

According to rescue sources, an unidentified man, aged 39, was found dead in a drain near Star Ground in Landhi area. After receiving information, rescue team and police rushed to the scene and recovered the body. Police handed over the body to his family members after medico-legal formalities.
