Bulbulay completes 400 episodes

Bulbulay, the popular sitcom about an unconventional Pakistani family and the troubles they get into, has been on the air for a whopping 400 episodes.

Directed by Rana Rizwan and written by Ali Imran, Bulbulay stars Ayesha Omar, Hina Dilpazeer, Nabeel and Mehmood Aslam as the main characters.

“I just feel thrilled to be part of history being created in Pakistan because it’s the longest running show ever, and it’s a great feeling to be a part of it,” Ayesha Omar said while talking to the media.

Ayesha — who plays Khoobsurat — expressed her gratitude to viewers for having kept the show running for so long. “We’re very, very thankful to all our viewers and the Pakistani nation because this is a show that has captured the hearts of a lot of people.”

“I would like my fans and my viewers to continue to appreciate this show and my character just like you guys have been for the past seven years,” continued Ayesha.

On the difficulties of being committed to a show for seven years, the Zindagi Gulzar Hai star said, “Of course, it’s been a tough journey because committing to something for so long obviously takes a lot of determination, a lot of commitment, but the entire team has done this together.”

“We actually call ourselves the Bulbulay family now because we’ve been through all sorts of ups and downs together and we’ve been through it together, the entire team.”

Ayesha compares the show to a marriage, as she quips, “It’s so funny that in today’s day and age, even marriages don’t last this long and we’ve managed to sort of stay together for so long you know, we’ve been through everything.”
