An accountability court on Friday handed over former Balochistan finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a 14-day remand.
Raisani was produced before the accountability court by NAB seeking his custody for another 14 days after the expiry of the first remand.
Raisani’s lawyer asked the court to shift his client to a hospital as he was not well. NAB’s counsel Ejaz Yousuf informed the court that Raisani was being provided medical care on a regular basis and there was no need for treatment at a hospital.
NAB also produced Nadeem Iqbal, the accountant of Municipal Committee Khaliqabad.
The accountant was arrested by NAB following information given by Raisani. He was sent on a 14-day remand too.
NAB arrested Raisani and recovered Rs650 million worth of currency notes in rupee, US dollar, British pound and Saudi riyal, prize bonds worth millions of rupees and 2kg of gold.
