Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday appreciated the valiant soldiers of Pakistan Army and said that they had always rendered invaluable sacrifices for the nation and would also succeed in the war against terrorism.

Talking to Dr Fayyaz Bukhari, father of Captain Asfandyar Bukhari, who embraced martyrdom in a military operation, the prime minister said “such brave soldiers are pride of the nation”.

The PM paid tribute to Captain Asfandyar, who lost his life during an operation against terrorists in Badaber camp Peshawar last year where he was leading his troops from the front.

“Such parents deserve honour and respect whose children sacrifice their lives while bravely fighting the enemy”, the PM said.

Dr. Fayyaz Bukhari after meeting the PM said that he was a proud father of a martyr who saved the lives of his fellow officers and hundreds of people residing at the Pakistan Air Force colony.

He lauded the PM’s decision of renaming the District Headquarters Hospital, Attock as Captain Asfandyar Bukhari Shaheed Hospital.

Expressing gratitude for acknowledging his sons sacrifice, he said it was encouraging that the PM was well-aware about Captain Asfandyar.

Defence Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif was also present in the meeting.
