Former Senate chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and his son Ajrar Hussain on Monday got bail in a case of thrashing a cop at the district courts.

The court granted them bail and ordered to submit surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each. Bukhari had reportedly misbehaved with a constable and then his son slapped him after he attempted to search the former Senate chairman before entering the court premises.

The Margallah Police Station had registered a case against them under sections 506, 34 and 353, 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code following the incident.

The police constable had said he was deployed outside the court to search people entering the court, when two people entered without body search. The policeman had alleged that the former Senate chairman had used profane language and verbally abused him when he asked to search him, while his son Jarrar Bukhari slapped him.
