IG assures removal of illegal police stations established within schools

Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) AD Khawaja has assured to remove all the police stations illegally established within government schools across the province after the matter was taken up during a meeting of the Sindh Assembly’s standing committee on interior, reported a private TV channel on Wednesday.

The meeting of the standing committee was led by chairman Awais Qadir Shah. The participants of the meeting also included Sindh IGP besides other police officials. An increment of Rs 10 billion was suggested in Sindh police’s budget for the next fiscal year. Committee Member Imtiaz Sheikh revealed during the meeting that various police stations in the province were illegally established within schools which must be removed at the earliest. The Sindh IGP assured that all such police stations shall shortly be closed down. Formation of 27 new developmental schemes for Sindh police was also approved in the meeting.
