The Met Department has warned that the plain areas of Sindh and Punjab are likely to experience a hot temperature on Wednesday(today).
The Department has forecast warm and dry temperature throughout the country and stated that the temperature could rise by 4-5°C.
Meanwhile, some areas of Kashmir are likely to receive rainfall today as well.
Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and some cities from Sindh will experience hot weather, whereas, Sibi and Makran Division in Balochistan are also to experience soaring temperatures today. Most of Punjab’s plain areas will experience hot temperature today. In such areas, the temperature can even exceed 45°C.
Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country. However, dust storm with few chances of light rain-thunderstorm may occur at few places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during the evening/night according to the report on Pakistan Meteorological Department’s website.
Last year, the heatwave had taken more than one thousand lives in Karachi alone. The harsh weather had triggered heatstroke among the citizens of Karachi, who had been observing fasts during the month of Ramazan.
Medical experts have advised citizens to consume as much water as possible to avoid dehydration and not venture outdoors unnecessarily.
