PM Nawaz inaugurates DI Khan-Hakla motorway

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Dera Ismail Khan and inaugurated the 285-kilometre motorway from Dera Ismail Khan to Hakla area on Tuesday.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders are also present on the occasion.

The project is part of the western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and will be completed at a cost of over Rs.129 billion in two years.

The project includes construction of several bridges and interchanges. It will bring enormous economic benefits to the less developed parts of the country.

The motorway is set to be constructed in five stages and passes through Pindi Gheb, Sawan, Mianwali, Rokhri, Rehmani Khel and will terminate at Yarik (DI Khan).

After the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is addressing a gathering at Ratta Kulachi Stadium where is expected to announce the construction of Chashma Right Bank Canal Phase-II, LadhuMarginal Dyke and agriculture university.

Strict security arrangements were made ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to the area.
