A motorcyclist was seriously injured due to whirling of metallic kite string on his neck on Tuesday.
According to police, the metallic kite string whirled round the neck of a motorcyclist who was passing from main fly over in Gujranwala city.
The motorcyclist fell down from and was critically injured due to wounds rendered due to the metallic string and falling down from motorcycle.
He was rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.
The Punjab government has banned kites flying across the province due to fatal accidents which often result in loss of precious lives, injuring several others besides disruption in power supply but authorities seem to be unsuccessful in implementing the ban in letter and spirits and kites were seen flying in various cities.
The citizens have demanded the district authorities and provincial government to bring the culprits to book and give financial assistance to the affectee for provision of medical treatment.
