The Sindh High Court (SHC) adjourned the hearing of a petition regarding re-inclusion of supermodel Ayyan Ali’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL) till Wednesday.
Latif Khosa, the counsel for the petitioner, said on Sunday that Ayyan was not allowed to board a flight twice at an airport despite the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SCP) verdict to remove his client’s name from the ECL.
The additional attorney general told the court that the model’s name was re-added to the list after a notification was issued on April 16.
The SC had rejected pleas filed by the Interior Ministry and customs authorities that challenged omitting Ali’s name from the list.
Earlier in April, the accused was fined $506,800 by the customs court, equal to the amount she had tried to smuggle in 2015.
