Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD), Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address to the nation was aimed at countering allegations levelled by the opposition parties.
While talking to a private news channel the minister said that the commission had been formed on Imran Khan’s terms and conditions and the commission had announced that there was no evidence of organized rigging.
“Opposition parties and people who owned offshore accounts have stopped the working of the system”, he urged.
The attitude of the opposition is illogical. The PM is being dragged in due to which he has to clarify his position, he said.
“Opposition parties have created hue and cry over Panama Papers leaks which are unprecedented”, he added.
He further said the government fulfilled the demand of the opposition by announcing formation of a commission under a retired judge.
Later, the opposition changed its stance due to which the government decided to form a commission led by the chief justice of Pakistan.
If the opposition plays a positive role, there will be no need of the commission, he said.
