Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) has reportedly buried the body of a mentally-ill Pakistani on Sunday.

The family said that BSF buried the body claiming it had started to decompose due to heat.

The boy who had ventured into the Indian territory near the village of Chhai Chapro in Sindh’s Diplo area was identified by his father from his clothes.

Dodo Bheel’s family said that the teenage boy went missing last week. The family and Pakistan Rangers believe the boy died of thirst and hunger.

“I had requested Pakistani border forces to approach the Indian authorities for the body of my son but they [Indian BSF] did not oblige,” said Dongro Bheel, father of the boy.

“The Indian forces did not hand over the body. They provided a picture of the body but the parents were unable to recognise the boy as the picture was blurry,” said a Pakistan Rangers official.

Chhai Chapro village is situated close to the border fence in the Rann of Kutch area. There are no villages on the Indian side of the border fence.
