At least seven suspects, including human smugglers, were arrested in raids on Islamabad, Lahore and Gujranwala, officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said on Monday.

Taking action in Lahore, FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell nabbed three proclaimed offenders Muhammad Bashir, Muhammad Shakil and Amir Abdullah along with two suspects Abdul Aziz and Rana Faisal, while a most wanted human smuggler Asif was copped from Gujranwala.

Similarly, the FIA arrested a passenger, namely Javed, from a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight that landed at the Benazir Bhutto International Islamabad Airport (BBIAP) from France. Javed had travelled to France illegally through Turkey.

Meanwhile, immigration authorities at the Islamabad airport arrested two murder accused who were detained from Abu Dhabi. Red warrants had been issued for Muhammad Ali and Umair Aijaz. Later, the two accused were handed over to the Punjab Police.
