The Interior Ministry has installed 64 CCTV cameras in all major parks and at picnic points of the federal capital to ensure security of citizens following the bombing in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park.
According to media reports, a heavy contingent of police has also been deployed and a joint patrolling of police and Rangers is also continuing in the parks to avoid any untoward incident.
According to reports, 60 cameras out of 64 cameras installed in the parks are functional, while the remaining four are dysfunctional. 33 CCTV cameras are installed in Shakkarparian and Pakistan Monument. 5 are installed in Fatima Jinnah Park, 10 in Lake View Park, 5 in children’s park and Marghzar Zoo, and 11 in Shahdara view point.
Police teams comprising 4 police personnel have been deployed in major parks and teams comprising 3 police personnel in small parks.
