An unknown woman was set on fire by a man after failure in rape attempt on Sunday. Police arrested husband of the victim over suspicion.
According to police, as per statement of the affectee, some unidentified culprit barged into her house and tried to rape her while she was present all alone at her residence located in Qureshi Chowk of Muzaffargarh.
Upon resistance from woman, the accused sprinkled petrol, set her on fire and fled the house.
The woman received critical burn wounds before the blaze could be put out. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The police over suspicion arrested her husband for investigation.
