Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) leaders have fully supported the protesting teachers and said that the teachers and students are suffering from mental torture due to the educational policies of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, adding that the government is shutting down schools whereas Ch Parvaiz Elahi had opened the closed government schools during his government in Punjab.

A PML delegation headed by PML Lahore Organiser and former MNA Mian Muhammad Munir, PML Women Wing Lahore Organiser and former MPA Amna Ulfat and other leaders of the party expressed solidarity with the protesting teachers staging sit-in on Mall Road.

Mian Munir and Amna Ulfat said that teachers’ protest is against the system of distribution of the schools of the poor among the favoured ones and giving these on contract, the teachers should address and set right their defective policies.

They said that Shehbaz Sharif has closed thousands of schools, adding that the government should provide maximum facilities to the students and establish new schools instead of depriving them of schools.

They said that forcing our mothers, sisters with their children and respected teachers to protest in this scorching heat is deplorable and is the result of apathy of the government. They further said that Shehbaz Sharif government should pay attention to its inefficiency instead of targeting the worthy teachers and make better policies for better education.
