A raiding team constituted by Wildlife and Parks Punjab Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan headed by the district wildlife officer to check illegal hunting, raided a Cholistan Game Reserve, arresting five accused and recovered three slaughtered Chinkara deer, a partridge and a hare from their possession.
A departmental fine of Rs. 400000 has also been charged from the accused.
According to details, Rahim Yar Khan District Wildlife Officer Mujahid Kaleem got a tip off that five people were engaged in illegal hunting upon which he conducted a raid in Cholistan Game Reserve area Toba Mirzaywala.
The accused tried to escape but were stopped near Chak No. 225 Daddi Karam Khatoon.
The detainees were identified as Muhammad Akram, son of Wali Muhammad, Muhammad Ramzan, son of Haji Goda Sadiqabad, resident of Rahim Yar Khan, Haroon Bukhtiyar, son of Bakhtiyar Sadiqabad, Col. ® Zia-ul-Haq son of Zarakat Ali from Sadiqabad Muslim Town, Rawalpindi and Umar Adeel, son of Bakao Din, resident of Rahim Yar Khan.
Wildlife and Parks DG Khalid Ayaz Khan has announced commendatory certificates and cash prizes for the raiding team and said that the campaign against illegal hunting will continue and indiscriminate action will be taken against all those involved in the unlawful practice.
