Road accidents claim lives in Lahore, Layyah

A bike rider died after being hit by a speeding car on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, a reckless-driven car knocked down a motorcycle resulting in death of rider near Ravi Interchange in the provincial capital Lahore.

The car driver fled from the scene of the accident and the body was shifted to hospital where it was handed over to the heirs after postmortem.

The police after registering a case against the fleeing car driver started raids for his arrest.

Meanwhile, at least two people died in a road accident in Layyah on Saturday morning. According to police, the accident took place near Heera bus terminal in Layyah where a speeding passenger wagon hit a motorcycle carrying two people.

Both motorcycle riders, stated to be father and son, died on the spot while the van driver fled the scene. The bodies were shifted to hospital while the police after registering a case against him started raids for his arrest.
