A local court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for UK-based Pakistani businessman Sarfraz Merchant again, in a fraud case hearing on Saturday.

The Judicial Magistrate South directed the police to produce Merchant on May 29.

In the previous hearing, the court had blocked his National Identity Card (NIC) and had directed the police to present the details of the suspect’s movable and immovable property.

A case was registered against Merchant by Asad Alim Niazi in Darakhshan Police Station. The complainant alleged Merchant of snatching his car on March 12, 2014 and threatening to file a bogus case receiving Rs 1.2 million.

Merchant is also a suspect in money laundering case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief.
