Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry hopped on to the bandwagon of politicians bashing the prime minister for not stepping down following allegations by the Panama Papers.

Addressing workers of his Justice Democratic Party on Saturday, he said, “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been accused of money laundering but he is being stubborn about it.”

He added that if such allegations were leveled against a prime minister in any other country, he would have stepped down by now.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should step down until investigation against him is completed and he should nominate someone from his party to lead the country till then,” he said.

He said that the nation should unite otherwise the rulers will usurp all of its resources, adding that his party will campaign to unite the nation.
